Every interaction involves some form of language! Forming words into sentences, vocabulary, making eye contact, following one, two, and multi-step directions, and understanding idioms are all parts of language. Activities in this category are designed for children to have fun as they develop expressive and receptive language skills. Literacy is also close to our heart because of a love for children’s books (and as a licensed SLP)! We recognize that children, from birth to age five, are in the Emergent Literacy Stage where they are taught the foundational skills needed before beginning formal reading instruction. CB&J provides practice in these skills, which are early predictors of later reading success! As you can see language and literacy are very intertwined! Thus, our goal is to promote a family culture of reading!
